Look at Your Vehicle.

Look between the spokes on your vehicle. You should see your brake pad together with the brake rotor. If the pad is less than 1/4 in. thick, you should think about having your brakes inspected, or replaced.

If you don't see any pad at all, we'd advise you to come in immediately to avoid damage to the vehicle, or injury.

Listen to Your Vehicle.

Do you hear screeching, squealing, or whining when you apply the brakes? This isn't an accident, your brakes are telling you they are ready to be replaced. Most brakes are designed to make noise when they deteriorate. The exception to this is if your car was wet recently. Moisture can create a thin layer of rust that produces similar squealing. This noise will go away after the first few times the brakes are applied.

Grinding Noises? You guessed it, time to have your brakes inspected/replaced.

Feel Your Vehicle.

Does it feel like your brakes are not working as well as they once did? Is your vehicle pulling to one side when the brakes are applied? Does the brake pedal vibrate when you apply pressure?

All of these are indicators there may be a problem with your brakes.
