Assistant Store Manager

Role: Assistant Store Manager

Report to: Store Manager

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Work Schedule: Works 6 days a week, and every other week works 5 days a week

Location: Canal

This candidate has strong drive to sell and create a positive customer experience for those direct and indirect clientele. The ideal candidate is a known leader, able to manage and motivate employees, ability to manage workflows and maximize efficiencies, while keeping customers satisfied. Given the existing checklists in place, an attention to detail and strong organizational skills are vital to ensuring the proper handling of the stores financial and operations. An understanding of and experience within the automotive repair industry is critical to being able to lead and manage in this environment (retail experience required/commercial experience preferred).


We are looking for a high energy and driven Assistant Store Manager for Cassidy Tire & Service. The primary responsibility of the position is the oversight and day-to-day running of our retail business at the Canal location. This position will provide store-level leadership while managing the service of customers’ automotive needs. The Canal Street location is in a hot spot within the downtown area, with lots of traffic on a day-to-day basis. We need a highly motivated leader who enjoys selling, delighting the customer, and managing the workflows of our Canal Store. There is a great amount of opportunity and growth for the right candidate.


  • Responsible for managing employees which includes, training, coaching, counseling, and scheduling.
  • Effectively manages employee productivity, workflows, branch expenses and inventory.
  • Establishes priorities for the stores retail business daily among competing requirements to ensure customer demands are met.
  • Commands the ability to quickly build positive relationships with employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Determines the customer needs, problems, complaints, requests, questions, and deadlines in a professional manner.
  • Learns and maintains current product knowledge of all tires, service and other product lines that are represented, as well as those of competitors.
  • Performs tire related inventory functions including knowledge of tire line, tire procedures, tire stock inquiries, and shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Performs visual inspections including under hood, under car and wheel off.


  • 8+ years relevant experience in the automotive repair retail industry required.
  • 2 years’ experience leading and managing others (managing scheduling, performance issues, coaching and training others.
  • 2 years proven ability to generate revenue for a store and retain customer base.
  • Ability to review and diagnose potential repairs for all types of vehicles (cars, light trucks, luxury imports) for the following issues: brakes, flushes, front end, suspension, and flushes required. This is to provide oversight or coaching for employees.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal) required.
  • Results driven individual who is proactive and very detail oriented required.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal skills) required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Post offer the candidate must pass a physical, drug test, and background check successfully.
